The Story of Petul...
Who is actually behind the partly colorful, partly crooked, partly very individual Apart Hotels?
As passionate "Ruhrgebietler", innovative creative minds and tinkerers, we came up with the somewhat idiosyncratic idea in 1999 to buy an approximately 100-year-old house in need of renovation and transform it into a really crooked and really colorful hotel: the Hotel An der Zeche.
What drove us back then?
We wanted to share our fascination for the Ruhr region with other people and give them the opportunity to get to know the region. And we wanted to give you - whether you are visiting the Ruhr for business or leisure - a place to feel at home. The accommodation should be comfortable, individual and uncomplicated. A concept that we have now been able to successfully implement in several hotels in Bochum and Essen.
In order to achieve this, we have a great team at our side, according to the typical Ruhrpott credo: many heads that think along and many hands that lend a hand. We all want to make your experience of the Ruhr region and its diversity as unforgettable as possible. To this end, we are there for you - sometimes in the foreground, sometimes behind the scenes - around the clock!
We look forward to meet you and welcoming you as part of the Petulaner.
Good luck!
Yours Ulrike Peters and the entire Petul Team
